Mt Rainier

Checking out the snow shoers

Ashty with his lollipop
AJ got a cold bum
Ayden crawled all the way up this snow hill, lost his his shoe, then came crawling down with only a sock.... It's Mommy to the rescue, in my sandals.

Today, Armand had some customers coming to pick up trailers, so I was going to be left alone at church. He had the bright idea to go on a drive after the customers left. So we loaded up the kids and decided to head to Mount Rainier. It was a decent day out and the kids were so excited. They always yell out "There's Mount RAYneew" and ask if we can go there whenever they see it. We haven't been there since September 2005, so they don't remember being there. We visited the new Visitor's Center, which was really neat the kids loved learning and exploring. There was a ton of snow at Paradise and the kids had a blast playing in it. Until they realized they were cold. The whole ride home all we heard was, "I'm watery!" from Ashten. Even AJ kept pulling on his wet pants. I felt bad for them since we didn't prepare well and bring them dry clothes. I have never been there in the winter and didn't really know what to expect, but snow would have been the obvious I suppose. On the way out of the visitor's center I learned that in most years, Paradise gets more snow than anywhere else in the lower 48 states! OOPS.

WOW - that looks so cold. I am ready for spring. The best part about going up there in the SUMMER, is that you can be really warm and still find snow to play in. If you would have gone to church, you would have found me with 3 boys and no husband too. Not a fun game, and will not happen again!
