Stings and Stitches

After the Benadryl and before the stitches At home
Poor little guy, three "accidents" all to the same side of his face

This morning we went over to Valerie's house so that I could help work on some baby announcements and thank you notes for her new baby. The kids had fun playing together. At lunchtime Valerie cooked some pizza and we sent all of the boys outside to eat. After a few minutes, the kids came in and said AJ had been stung by a bee. Since there were no witnesses over the age of 4 and there was no stinger we just left it and moved on to other things. About 10 minutes later, AJ started screaming like crazy. We ran over to him and he had blood falling everywhere. I got light headed for a second but luckily Valerie had him. He had fallen onto an open drawer and hit just below his eyebrow. We decided that I should take him to the doctor and see if he needed stitches. By this time, his cheek had turned hot, red, and a little puffy looking. I took him over to Virginia Mason. By the time we got in to see the doctor, Anderson started scratching at his chest (He WAS stung by a bee). The nurse gave him a dose of Benadryl and he was out! Doctor Gould came in and gave AJ three stitches. He did awesome, I held him while he was getting stitched and he stayed asleep for the first one and a half. I've come to the conclusion after last weeks cheek incident, that when AJ gets tired...he gets hurt!
